The best way to explain how this book made me feel is to explain the connotation associated with it. I know the term connotation is usually reserved for a single word, but if I could extrapolate the concept to a whole book, I would say that the feeling I had after reading this was the same as that from reading Marianne Williamson's poem, "Our Deepest Fear," from her book A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles. The sentiments from “Our Deepest Fear” that most clearly express the spirit of Stepping Out of Bondage are as follows, “We were all meant to shine...We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us...And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”Stepping Out of Bondage is an unabashed account of the author’s life and lessons she’s learned along the way. Her experiences combined with the exercises in the book inspire you and challenge you to take any difficulties in your life, examine God’s influence/plan within them, fuse them with all of the gifts that God has given you, and transform them into motivation and direction to walk into your purpose. This is an AMAZING read!
