I need to start in a way that will seem to be somewhat strange taking into account my 5-star rating: I have found very, very little new in this book. But I need to confess that I'm a sort of "advanced user". I practice shibari and go into suspension actively. Just the things that the author doesn't cover. And he honestly says about it at the very beginning (the third thing you won't find in it is bondage of a struggling person).So, if you're looking for Japanese style bondage, this is not the best book. However, I insist that every novice read it despite his/her preferred style. Just because this is probably the best source of info regarding all kinds of risks that we may face during our activity and the ways we can avoid them.Also the book is a great source for beginners who want to try bondage and look for basic knots and harnesses. And in general "western type" of "sex-focused" bondage (let's say "tie and caress") is described very well here. But repeat again, 90% of value of this book is about safely. It's funny but among my kinky friends the general idea is "the book is a bit boring, because the author often says quite obvious things, but I have read it and can advise to others". I share this opinion.
