BLONDIN I FARA (aka "Blonde in Bondage" in the US and "Nothing But Blondes" in the UK) is an English-language Swedish-filmed exploitation piece, with rather an engaging storyline.Larry Brand (Mark Miller) is an American reporter on assignment in Sweden. He happens across the path of lovely nightclub entertainer Mona Mace (Anita Thallaug). Mona is kept under the thumb of menacing Max (Lars Ekborg) who has shares in a dope smuggling ring and routinely makes sure that Mona gets her daily 'dose of medicine' - whether she wants it or not!Larry embarks on a daring plan to rescue Mona and get her clean and sober. He gets some much-needed assistance from wisecracking Laila (Ruth Johansson) a fellow nightclub singer. There's also a funny subplot featuring two Swedish girls who have crushes on Larry (Birgitta Ander and Eva Larang).This film was actually banned in Finland for a time, later earning the certificate of K-16 when it was finally passed for exhibition. The storyline is gritty but enthralling; Thallaug and Johansson make for great leading ladies and Ekborg is the perfect heavy.Alpha's print is average; the actual film is littered with dirt and scratches and many small jumps in picture and sound. The mono soundtrack is clear and easily-heard. Overall a fine movie.
