The faux leather is a little thin, but lace it up and it can provide a nice squeeze.Straps and buckles are also thin but adequate. Use the laces rather than the buckles to make it tight (they spread the load better). Would be nice if they put something on the ends of the laces to make them easier to thread through the holes as you'll generally need to lace/unlace each time.My issue was that the first time we pulled on one of the D-rings on the side while laced up, it tore out the whole seam on one side. The rings are attached right on a stressed seam. Rather than deal with the hassle of a return, I repaired the seam using a piece of thin strong deer leather and Goop adhesive, bonded behind and overlapping the seam and it has held up since. Leave the D-rings as decoration.
